Dennis K. Halihan formerly of Bloomington, IL, passed away unexpectedly on September 19 at 5:40 p.m. at his residence in Washington, IL. 

Dennis is survived by his parents, John J. and Janice Halihan and Kathleen L. Boehle; his children, Dallas and ShaVaughn Halihan; his grandson, Tyler L. Halihan; his siblings, John and Lorie Halihan, Kelly and John Underhill, Pat and Carol Halihan, and Sean and Sarah Halihan; and his previous wife and mother of his son, Michelle Halihan.

Dennis was born in Normal, ILon November 20, 1967.  Dennis worked as a machine press operator at Tazewell Publishing for many years of his life and most recently was employed at Bard Optical working in the lab. He loved playing the guitar and making music.  Fishing, singing, and spending time with friends and family were some of his favorite pastimes.  Dennis’ pride and joy was his children and grandson.  He loved and was loved deeply by all, and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016, at the VFW in Bloomington, IL at 2:30 p.m.  Memorials can be made to the Heart of Illinois Down Syndrome Association, 325 E.
